  • CNC Machinist - Akron, OH

    Summary: 

    The CNC Machinist’s primary responsibility is to understand work order blueprints and design requirements in order to setup and program CNC machinery. The CNC Machinist is a vital role within manufacturing to assist in the production of machined parts while maintaining quality and safety standards. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday on first shift. Additional overtime may be available Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed.  


    Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

    Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the CNC Machinist duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:  

    • Plan machining by studying work order, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and specifications 

    • Program mills or lathes by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry per print specifications 

    • Maintain dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of offsets and instruments such as micrometers and veneer calipers 

    • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, milling, tapping, boring, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes, and replacing worn tools 

    • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Adjust as necessary for conditions and to produce the fastest, safest, highest quality part possible 

    • Inspect items as instructed and provide feedback to management to ensure any quality defects can be avoided in the future 

    • As necessary operate programmed machinery to change, load/unload, and produce parts to specified design 

    • Maintain a clean work area, returning equipment and tools at the end of the day 

    • Assist other departments and functions as needed

  • Machine Build Technician - Akron, OH

    Summary: 

    The Machine Build Technician’s primary responsibility is to fit and assemble components to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment per established guidelines and standards. Proper assembly of products and machinery is a very important role within the company as our customers expect quality equipment to meet their needs. The Machine Build Technician position offers a variety of standard equipment and custom machinery build opportunities. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday on first shift. Additional overtime may be available Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed. 


    Qualifications:  

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Machine Build Technician duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:  

    • Read and interpret blueprints, and other instructions written or verbal, to complete subassembly and/or final assembly of customized (typically larger, more complex) products or components according to established guidelines and quality standards 

    • Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints 

    • Use a variety of hand and power tools and equipment to assemble units according to required specifications 

    • Consult with Engineering for custom product design projects 

    • Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly 

    • Aligns components for assembly and bolts, screws, dowels, welds, or rivets parts together, or arranges for assembly by others 

    • Identify faulty components during the assembly process, make adjustments and report them to management 

    • Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts 

    • Assembles, sets up, and operates machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications. Mechanically supports electricians and programmers as needed 

    • Inspect items as instructed and provide feedback to management to ensure any quality defects can be avoided in the future 

    • Maintain a clean work area, returning equipment and tools at the end of the day 

    • Assist other departments and functions as needed

    Education and/or Experience:  Technical degree or certification preferred but not required. Three or more years of experience related to assembling capital equipment machinery or complex subassemblies. 

  • Mechanical Engineer - Kent, Ohio

    What we expect of you as a Mechanical Engineer

    The Mechanical Engineer works with a team of project engineers, electrical controls engineers, the engineering administrative assistant, shop floor personnel, and occasionally with the stockroom and inventory managers. The Senior Project Engineer utilizes AutoDesk Design Suite and Inventor as well as our MRP software, Global Shop, for design and engineering changes. The Mechanical Engineer will have analytical and creative design experience and a strong problem solver.


    What you will do:

    - Manage projects from initial design concept through production.

    - Support our sales team by working with customer engineering and internal/external

    manufacturing teams.

    - Complete and release product designs which meet customer requirements and internal

    best practices.

    - Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    - Communicate project status to critical project stakeholders, and escalate concerns when

    appropriate.

    - Maintain accurate product development records.

    - Travel infrequently to interface with customer engineering and manufacturing bases.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    - Proficiency in AutoCAD Project Design Suite and Inventor (3D).

    - Drawing and Design Experience in the packaging industry.

    - Minimum of 5 years as an engineer/designer in the packaging industry or related field.

    - Proven track record of successful machine design.

    - Being proficient in project design, layout design, and modern engineering practices.


    Required Abilities / Skills / Essential Functions:

    - Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

    - Must be able to read, write, and comprehend written plans.

    - Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

    - Must be present on-site to complete the job.

  • Senior Controls Engineer - Kent, Ohio

    Looking for a highly-skilled controls engineer with programming experience on Allen-Bradley. Robotics experience (ideally FANUC) will be a major bonus. Competitive wages and benefits and an opportunity for long-term success with our growing company.

    others as necessary. The Senior Controls Engineer utilizes AutoDesk, Autocad Electrical, Proprietary

    Rockwell Software, and our MRP software for design and engineering.


    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Design electrical controls

    • Programming of Fanuc robots

    • Write software for controlling packing machinery

    • Provide electrical engineering information by answering questions and requests.

    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical

    • Drawing and Design Experience in the packaging industry

    • Minimum of 2 years as an engineer/designer in the packaging industry

    • Extensive experience with programming and designing control systems

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
